DRAWING MADE EASY - Download 2 of 5 - Getting It On The Page
"Anyone can learn to draw!"
The "anyone" is you. Master artist RA Byrnes is ready to prove it.
In these video programs he will guide you through every step from the first mark on a blank page to the beautiful finished drawing. Using simple progressive drawings and clear descriptions, RA not only covers the basics, but also gives insider tips and shortcuts that every artist uses. You'll also build your powers of observation and visual acuity. Watch this video with a pencil and paper handy - and you'll find that drawing is easy to do and genuinely satisfying.
Getting It On The Page (6:39 min)
Still-life: basket, apple, pineapple. In the space between the thumb and forefinger of his extended arm, RA sizes up the apple. The apple becomes a unit of measure. We discover the still-life is a bite more than three apples wide and three apples high. These measures are transferred to the paper as three units high and three and a half units wide. The drawing can be any size - postage stamp or billboard. Follow the steps to a finished drawing and you'll be able to draw anything.
