Introduction (10:36)

Perspective drawing shows space and depth on a flat surface. It's a technique based on observation. A circular plate is an oval when seen in perspective. Overlapping shapes suggest depth. Diminishing Size is another experience. Think people in a line. Aerial Perspective uses sharp focused near objects and soft focused distant objects - an effect caused by water vapor in the air. Examples of early art used a Vertical composition in which the bottom-most layer is read as near, the middle ground as farther, and the top layer as distant.

Linear perspective, invented in the Renaissance, is based on the observation of converging lines - think railroad tracks. Both Parallel and Angular linear techniques are introduced with basic definition of terms.
