Master artist RA Byrnes introduces you to the basic concepts of perspective, showing how various techniques can create an impression of depth and space. Moving from the simple to the complex, he'll guide you with progressive free-hand and ruled drawings each step of the way. Lots of examples demonstrate and reinforce each lesson.

Demonstration Drawing One-Point (9:42)

RA demonstrates every step using a series of boxes spread across a large drawing sheet. Free-form shapes and curved objects are also drawn. As he draws, he provides observations about the position of objects - Above the horizon line you'd see the bottom of some objects; below you'd see the tops. Encouraging reminders caution you to continue when you don't see what you expected. Like an optical illusion, perspective drawing is sometimes difficult to see until the drawing is completed.
